It is not skin exposure that causes pulses to race. It is the act of revealing, while it is in process.
Pride's revealing bikini (the word "revealing" here used as a verb) employs two kinds of fabric, to achieve an effect like the opening of a stage curtain: a moment enjoyed only once. One fabric type, used for the lining, is always opaque. The other, used on the outside, slowly becomes see-through, as the bikini gets wet.
Between the two layers, lay secrets. To reveal them, add water, then sit back and watch people's reactions.
Those who would say the G-String is indecent, should consider how decently it has been crafted. The idea is for onlookers to feel discomfort. With your skin only touching smooth, inward-turned seams, you will feel nothing but comfort.
The feature stitching (only on the Dried Orchid and Raw White version) is a nod to the mum-made bikinis I recall as a boy, as we crammed onto diving towers at public pools.
These pieces are so slow and tendious to hand make, one at a time (as I do) that there is no profit in them at these prices. The idea is that, together, we will be adding a footnote to a long history in this country, of heart-stopping, decent, yet somewhat indecent bikinis, handmade for making a splash.
The G-String features:
- fully secured lining throughout the seamless front panel, for comfort and to ensure the seams stay concealed.
- Meticulous construction, ensuring stitching is not in contact with sensitive skin.
- Feature stitching for a dash of handcraft, recalling bikinis that mum made.
- Concealed graphics in each panel, revealed only when the fabric is wet.
The top features:
- an adjustable under bust band offering plus-or-minus 4cm beyond the recommended size in each range—wear it loose as a bra or when sunbathing then cinch it up tight for high diving or swimming in surf.
- a Pride logo clasp that closes with an audible snap, thanks to the addition of washers.
- bagged out seams for maximum comfort and to eliminate the ingress of sand.
Materials
- The outer self fabric is 143gsm "Espadon" stretch woven fabric from Payen in France. Every strand of elastane is spun within a protective casing of nylon. This fabric becomes almost totally see-through when wet.
- The inner lining is 190gsm recycled Lycra from Carvico in Milan, and will remain opaque when it is wet.
- All threads are UV and chlorine resistant polyester.
- For elasticity and endurance, 0.63mm treated latex is ran through all straps and opening seams with 0.12mm Nisshinbo Mobilon rubber in the seams of the top's triangles.
- All metal hardware is moulded exclusively for Pride. Electrostatic rack plating contains no heavy metals, for example cadmium, chromium, copper, mercury, nickel or lead.
